PUBG Black Friday 2018 Deals (Xbox One)

PUBG Black Friday 2018 Deals (Xbox One)

With Black Friday getting closer, more deals have sprung up for the big sales day on November 23. While you can’t act on these deals at this time, it’s good to know what’s coming up before the busiest sales day of the year. One of the deals we’ve highlighted here is for Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, otherwise known as PUBG.

As of now, PUBG on Xbox One will have some upcoming sales at Best Buy, Target, and Walmart for less than $20. In addition to this game, we also had an upcoming look at sales for other games including Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, God of War, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4–which recently launched the series’ first crack at the battle royale genre.

Though other games like Fortnite have overtaken PUBG’s former dominance in the growing field of free-for-all games, it’s still a popular title and has a solid player base on both PC and Xbox One. With three different maps to fight it out on, and featuring many different types of skins, weapon decals, and other customization options–PUBG focuses a lot more on tactical gameplay compared to the Fortnite’s more arcadey style action. The most recent event happening in the world of PUBG is a promotional tie-in featuring the Joker and Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad.

In our review of PUBG last year, editor Michael Higham gave it an 8 and stated: “PUBG’s technical shortcomings can undermine its broader achievements on rare occasions, but they don’t override your desire to continue playing. Each phase of a match presents a different type of tension that is equal parts thrilling and terrifying, driven by the insatiable desire to be the last person (or squad) standing. Whether you play solo or in a group, successfully executing adaptive tactics to win intense, high-stakes firefights makes for an incredibly rewarding experience. Every player has unique stories of their most memorable matches, and even after hundreds of hours, PUBG continues to inspire rousing tales of victory and defeat.”

There’s still many more deals coming in the time leading up to Black Friday. Remember, many of these until the time of Black Friday, so keep that in mind when you’re sorting through these deals early. If you want to know more about what’s coming up, be sure check out our roundup of Black Friday deals on GameSpot.

Black Ops 4 Adds Iconic Nuketown Map On PS4 Tomorrow

Black Ops 4 Adds Iconic Nuketown Map On PS4 Tomorrow

Some new content is on the way to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 very soon. As Treyarch teased in the patch notes for the game’s latest update, the developer is bringing back the fan-favorite Nuketown map, and it’s arriving for free this week for some players.

First introduced in the original Call of Duty: Black Ops, Nuketown has gone on to become one of the most iconic multiplayer maps in the series. It has been remade in every subsequent Black Ops game, each time sporting a different look while retaining the same general layout. In Black Ops 4, Nuketown takes the form of a small Russian city in the dead of winter. You can take your first look at it in the trailer above.

Thanks to Activision’s timed exclusivity agreement with Sony, Nuketown will arrive first on PS4 beginning tomorrow, November 13, with an Xbox One and PC release set to follow later. Treyarch hasn’t announced exactly when the map will come to those two platforms, but this time, its PS4 exclusivity period is only seven days (rather than 30 as it was for previous Call of Duty games), so Xbox One and PC players will presumably get their chance to revisit Nuketown sometime next week.

Treyarch has a lot more free content planned for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Next month, the developer will introduce the first of several new Specialist characters to the game. Treyarch also plans to hold more seasonal, weekly, and other limited-time events in the game, and the battle royale-inspired Blackout mode is also slated to receive its own set of regular map updates, expansions, and new modes.

Treyarch continues to tweak and improve Black Ops 4 with a regular stream of updates and patches. The latest focused on resolving some lingering stability issues in Zombies mode and made a few tweaks to Blackout and multiplayer. We also have our own ideas on how Blackout mode can improve in the future.

Gboard goes official with GIF, emoji, and sticker AI suggestions, picks up 37 new languages

After tests popped up throughout the summer, Gboard has now officially announced it is using on-device AI to provide suggestions for stickers, GIFS, and emoji based on what users are typing. Additionally, Google’s keyboard app gained support for 37 new languages, including new variants of Russian and Arabic, as well as several indigenous North American languages.

Angela Lang/CNET

This deal shaves $200 off the Note 9 (128GB), Galaxy S9 (64GB) or S9 Plus (64GB) when you buy them unlocked from Samsung’s website. That means you’ll spend $800 for the Note 9, $520 for the S9 and $640 for the S9 Plus. That does’t count additional savings you might receive if you trade in an old phone as well — Samsung will give you up to $300 when you buy either phone.

Save $100 and get a free starter kit

Sarah Tew/CNET

Buy a Galaxy S9, S9 Plus, or Note 9 from Samsung to get $100 off the ticket price, and a Starter Kit. Samsung throws in a DeX cable, wireless charger, case and studio-grade AKG headphones (not ear buds). With this deal you don’t get as much money off, but Samsung values the starter kit bundle at $300, so it’s worth looking at if you’re also in the market for a set of over-ear cans.
